Hi Friends,

It’s November and the fall/winter season is finally here. That means September’s humidity is all but gone, temperatures have cooled down a bit, we are throwing open our patio doors to the breeze, and our friends and neighbors are returning from the north seeking Baja’s warm sunshine.

Of course, returning to La Paz, or visiting for the first time, can still be a challenge depending on where you live and whether you are flying or driving, due to the ongoing COVID-19 travel restrictions. As always, check with your airline for the latest updates, and you can keep up with the changes here in La Paz here: https://coronavirus.bcs.gob.mx/.

Starting in December, American Airlines will begin flying direct flights into La Paz airport from both Dallas/Forth Worth and Phoenix airports. Finally, direct flights! That means no more 2 hour plus drive from Los Cabos airport for travelers connecting through  those cities. We expect the new direct flights to drive even more demand for La Paz area real estate this coming year.

We had a busier than normal summer, with a steady stream of properties that were available on the market going under contract. Homes for sale are going closer to asking price and are selling faster than they have in previous years. We expect this winter the pace will continue, with more inventory coming on the market as our seasonal residents return.

Vista Colinas, the 12 home community of single family homes with ocean views located in the hills of El Centenario, is now 50% sold out. With a new model home underway (the Choya plan), only 5 home sites remain and we expect to sell several more in the coming season.

When we moved to La Paz from the US, we had so many questions. Fortunately, we landed in a very friendly community, with neighbors willing to help answer our many questions and point us in the right direction. To help other buyers navigate the process of realizing their Baja dream, we’ve updated our Buyer’s Guide to La Paz Area Real Estate.

We continue our Spotlight on El Centenario this month with a feature on Frutería Lupita, where locals in the know go to buy fresh, organic, local produce and more.

We hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter, and if you are returning soon to La Paz, we look forward to seeing you soon.
We moved here. You can, too.

Vista Colinas, the 12-home community of new construction homes in El Centenario, is now 50% sold out. This friendly enclave of single family homes with ocean views is proving popular with full time and seasonal residents alike. There are five floor plans to choose from including 2 and 3 bedroom plans, and pricing is based on the combination of lot and floor plan chosen.
Each home has an ocean view from the rooftop sundeck, and some also have views from the main terrace. Choice of high-end finishes include custom-built hardwood cabinetry, granite countertops, oversized tile floors, stainless appliances and more. A/C and ceiling fans are included in every room, and all plans include a master suite with dual vanities, an inside laundry room, shaded patio with built-in BBQ area and rooftop deck with shade pergola. Upgrade options include a spa or pool, and a shaded parking pergola. The community is fenced on three sides and has a single entry access road, and fiber-optic Internet is now being brought to the neighborhood. Spotlight on Centenario: Fruteria Lupita
Organic produce that is truly local.
If you live in El Centenario you probably already know The Bacon Guy, The Cheese Lady and The Chicken Man…our very own purveyors of quality food made or grown locally. In this month's Spotlight on El Centenario, we introduce you to The Fruit Lady: Guadalupe (Lupita) Ascencio. Lupita owns and operates Frutería Lupita, an organic fruit and veggie market located just one block off Highway 1, across the highway from Mesquite Verde Restaurant). Lupita is a thoroughly charming woman who grew up in the fruit/veggie business. Today, Lupita offers just-picked produce from local growers in Conquista Agraria just north of La Paz.
"We absolutely love our new home in Vista Colinas! The homes are an amazing value, and every day we enjoy our friendly neighbors and our view of the ocean and the La Paz city lights. Carlos Valero with Baja Custom Homes designed and built us an excellent quality home and were great to work with throughout the entire process. We highly recommend Baja Life Realty and Baja Custom Homes to anyone considering building a home here." — Victor and Deneb
