Hi Friend,

It's only February, but a lot has happened already in this new year here in La Paz. First, we are excited to welcome our newest sales agent, Gordon Wilson, to the team!

If that name sounds familiar, there's a reason. Last year, we welcomed Gordon's brother, Ian Wilson, to our team. As many of you already know, Ian has been doing a great job helping our clients navigate the process of buying and selling real estate in La Paz. Gordon didn't want to let his brother Ian have ALL the fun, so this past year he also decided to join Ian and their mother, Lisa, by making the move to live full time here in La Paz. Gordon was formerly a real estate agent in British Columbia, so now that he is licensed as a BCS MLS realtor, he's ready and able to help our clients find their dream home here, too. See more on Gordon below, including a video he made of a Tour of El Centenario, one of La Paz's fastest growing neighborhoods.

It's been an unusually chilly and windy winter this year, and unfortunately La Paz's famous whale sharks apparently decided to go look elsewhere for better weather, so the whale shark tour season ended early. However, the grey whale season on the Pacific side of the Baja peninsula is in full swing, with tours reporting a lot of activity from the whales. Did you know that Puerto Chale, the southernmost lagoon for whale watching, is only 2.5 hours from La Paz? You can do the tour in a day trip without having to book and overnight stay. You can learn more about how to go see and even pet these gentle giants on our blog here.

Are you considering or planning a move to La Paz soon? Ready to make the dream your reality? Check out our article "6 Considerations When Planning a Move to La Paz" for some tips to help with your planning.

And finally, if you are in La Paz during February and you like to golf, consider joining us at the charity golf tournament on February 25th at Paraiso del Mar Golf Club (on El Mogote). Baja Life Realty is proud to be helping sponsor the tournament, which will benefit FANLAP, a local charity that provides scholarships to La Paz area children to go to school. We hope to see you out there! Details on how to register below.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about La Paz area real estate, we have a great team of agents ready and willing to assist. Just drop us a line at info@bajaliferealty. We look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,
The Baja Life Realty Team
We moved here. You can, too.

Baja Life Realty Welcomes Gordon Wilson to the Team
Our newest agent is an experienced realtor from British Columbia, and he is ready to help you live your dream here in La Paz.

We are excited to welcome our third sales agent to the Baja Life Realty team. Gordon Wilson recently made the move to La Paz  from Victoria, British Columbia, where he was a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker Oceanside Real Estate. Gordon is no stranger to La Paz, and not the first of his family to make the move to our fair city. Both his mother and brother live here full time, and Ian Wilson joined Baja Life Realty this past year as our first sales agent. You may have seen Gordon's video about moving to La Paz in our last newsletter, and he's now made a second video giving us a tour of El Centenario (see below). In Gordon's own words: "In every role I've taken on, I've proven myself an honest, diligent, capable professional. I earn trust naturally, by offering clear and practical feedback, with enthusiastic hard work, and by creating results. I have traveled extensively and developed a deep respect for the varieties of human culture and society, as some previous careers landed my feet into 90+ countries over two decades. I have worked with all manner of clientele, offering the same earnest service and commitment to every type of client. I dabble in multiple languages, am a die-hard foodie and chef, and I revel in outdoor exercise, like running, hiking, and swimming. I have split my life between Vancouver Island, BC, and La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, and now I look forward to working with clients here in La Paz to find their dream homes. As our motto says, I moved here, you can, too!" You can reach Gordon at gordon@bajaliferealty.com.

Villas del Centenario Update
New master-planned community in El Centenario is taking shape.
Villas del Centenario, the master-planned community situated in the hills of El Centenario overlooking the Bay of La Paz, is taking shape. A total of 24 lots have been reserved, with 10 homes now under construction and the first 3 homes nearly ready to be delivered. The community is now connected to CFE, the electric utility, with the first few homes now receiving power! Villas del Centenario is a planned community of 44+ homes. When completed, the fully fenced community will include 2 pickleball courts, a combination office/gym, a common BBQ area, high-speed Internet, paved roads and more. With so many lots initially reserved, sales were paused this past year to give the construction a chance to catch up, but will resume this spring with new pricing. Stay tuned for more details!
"My wife and I had a great overall experience with Ian as our real estate agent and we would highly recommend him. From a professional standpoint, Ian understands all the fundamentals about the industry and is incredibly knowledgeable about the La Paz market, area, trends, and culture. Ian is honest, empathetic, and thoughtful with a wonderful temperament and great communication skills. For us, considering real estate and relocation in another country was stressful, Ian patiently answered all our questions, demystified the process, and connected us with his powerful network, so we immediately felt confident with the decision and saw the path to make our daydream of building a home in Mexico a reality. Ian is much more than a savvy agent, he is an interesting person who has had a unique life journey with a variety of fascinating experiences and wonderful lessons to learn from. Ian has earned our trust, our praise, and also our friendship.”  — Carl and Kristin Smith
