Hi Friend,

Tis the holiday season and we want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and Happy New Year.

As we have been saying for some time now, the La Paz real estate market has really taken off, with many homes now selling quickly at or near asking price, and new neighborhoods under construction to meet the demand. To help us ensure we continue to bring our clients the very best service, we are excited to announce a new addition to our team. Some of you have already met Ian Wilson, who is now a licensed real estate agent working with Baja Life Realty. We are excited to welcome Ian to our team!

Our ongoing Spotlight on El Centenario series continues this month with a focus on local veterinarian Dr. Mario Galo. Dr. Mario, as his clients know him, is a wonderful vet, very compassionate and kind, reliable, and bilingual. He has also been working with the team at Baja Dogs La Paz, Inc. on local sterilization campaigns. Whether your pet needs vaccinations, sterilization surgery, or you need a health certificate to travel with your pet, Dr. Mario can help.

If you are still shopping for friends and family here in La Paz, this month we also bring you an updated version of our La Paz Shopping Guide. Be sure to check it out for local sources for gifts and more throughout the year.

And for those of you spending the holidays here in La Paz, in this month's Helpful Spanish series we offer you some holiday-themed Spanish vocabulary words to help you spread good cheer throughout the season.

This is our last newsletter of 2021 and we hope you enjoy it. We wish you a very safe, healthy and happy holiday season wherever you may be, and look forward to connecting with you in the New Year!

Regards,
Jim & Rebecca MacDonald

When you move to La Paz from another country, part of the challenge is figuring out where to shop. Most of us rely on word of mouth, but when you’re new to the area and don’t know anyone, it can be tough to find what you need, when you need it. So whether you need to shop for necessities, for gifts for your friends and family back home, or you just love shopping, we’ve compiled our La Paz Area Shopping Guide. This list is by no means exhaustive. La Paz is a big city, and there are literally hundreds of stores, so in the spirit of the holidays, we’ve focused our list on places to buy gifts. We’ve also included online options specific to Mexico. Don’t see a store or resource in our list? Send us your recommendations at info@bajaliferealty.com. We love discovering new places!

In addition to treating family pets, Dr. Mario is also making a significant contribution to the community. Working together, Baja Dogs and these vets have sterilized over 800 pets so far this year.
