We are kicking off the season by going to see our friends perform in the the first ever opera to be performed in La Paz. That's right, Mozart's Don Giovanni opera is scheduled to debut on November 1st at Teatro de la Ciudad La Paz. Musicians from different parts of Mexico and a chorus from our local community will be on stage, including our friends Julie Tillinghast, a professionally trained singer who performs at events around La Paz; and Steve Robello, who has been given the honor of performing the traditional song La Lorona. Steve, a heavy metal guitarist and musician, says he had to learn to play acoustic guitar just for this event! If you are in town, we hope you get to see this special performance.
