Hi Friend,

Here we are, back in October, at the start of the Fall/Winter season again. Someone hit that "October" switch and our weather flipped from hot and humid September to cool mornings and evenings, sunny temperate days, and most of the humidity has disappeared! We are happy to have our wonderful dry, balmy weather back that is the hallmark of our little slice of paradise here in Baja California Sur. Don't worry, it's still warm, sunny and perfect weather for going to the beach, hiking, paddleboarding or just hanging out on your patio with friends.

Our winter residents will soon be returning, along with La Paz's famous whale sharks. We had a very good rainy season, and for those of you just returning the desert will look very different! It's lush and green, with trees and flowers blooming everywhere after the rains. This season we had one serious storm, Kay, which made landfall as a category 2 hurricane. However, due to our fortunate location, La Paz was spared a direct hit once again and we mostly just got some much needed rain. Folks along the Pacific coast and north of us in Mulege were not so lucky, but true to the Baja spirit, locals quickly organized donations and sent rescue efforts to help. According to the online groups that monitor Baja's roads, the highways have been cleared and repaired and it's once again safe to drive south from the border.

The La Paz real estate market has stayed busy, with homes selling at a brisk pace. That's why we are excited to announce two new listings, one in the popular La Posada area and a new construction home in progress in the rapidly growing community of El Centenario. Check out the listings below for pricing and more details.

If you're planning a househunting visit to La Paz this fall, be sure to read our latest Navigating the Purchase Process blog post, where we walk you through the process and share the key details you will need to know to make a solid offer and complete your purchase.

Our friend, Brighton West, is back with another great video, Dining Out with Expats in La Paz, where we visit local chef Jorge Aguirre at his KM14 restaurant in El Centenario to sample one of his popular specialties, molcajete. If you haven't tried this bubbling bowl of deliciousness yet, check out the video and then book your reservation next time you are in the neighborhood.

We look forward to welcoming our winter visitors and residents back this fall, and kicking off another great real estate season in La Paz.

Sincerely,
The Baja Life Realty Team

La Paz Real Estate: Navigating the Purchase Process
You found the perfect La Paz area home to buy. Now what?
After a successful La Paz area house hunting trip, you found the place you want to buy. Now it’s time to make an offer that will secure the property. While the process is similar to that in the US and Canada, there are some differences that you will want to be aware of as you take the next step.
What is this property worth?
The art of making a successful offer requires both local knowledge about the La Paz real estate market, information about the specific property’s history, the neighborhood and location of the property, and many other factors. A good real estate professional can help you with this research, but ultimately you must decide what the property is worth to you and how much you are willing to offer.

Join our friend Brighton West of Almost Retired in Mexico as he tries Chef Jorge's molcajete for the first time at local El Centenario restaurant KM14.

" We were fortunate to have Ian Wilson as our realtor. Ian spent a considerable amount of time relaying his impressive knowledge and guidance. He made the process easy to understand, giving us confidence that allowed us to pursue our dream. But the most important aspect was our trust and faith were put in a person that followed through and was true to his word. In this day and age that is the best thing I can say about anybody. Ian is a great agent, but more importantly, he is a great person."
