Summer Arrives in La Paz

Summer has arrived here in La Paz, the days are heating up but the nights are still cooled by the Coromuel breezes, making it perfect weather for lazy beach days and nights spent chatting by the firepit. With the warmer weather comes a new season to explore remote, empty beaches, and to camp, snorkel and explore all that La Paz has to offer at a slower, more relaxed pace.

In fact, we decided to kick the season off with a snorkeling and camping trip with friends to San Evaristo. If you love to snorkel and see lots of wildlife, we highly recommend this little getaway! You'll see lots of marine life: on our trip we saw dolphins, humpback whales, turtles, stingrays, a huge variety of colorful fish, and more, all thanks to our very friendly and professional guides at Barbarita Tours. The La Paz real estate market has been the busiest we’ve ever seen this year, with properties getting snapped up almost as soon as they come on the market. That has left the available inventory of homes for sale here in La Paz pretty scarce. Fortunately, we launched Villas del Centenario, a new, master-planned community of ocean view homes in the hills of El Centenario, along with our building partner Baja Custom Homes, just in time to help meet the demand for more available homes for sale. We are also very pleased to share that the COVID-19 vaccination program is well underway here in La Paz, with many folks lining up to get vaccinated by age group. We are very pleased to share that the COVID-19 vaccination program is well underway here in La Paz, with many folks lining up to get vaccinated by age group. We were able to get our first vaccines recently, and should be getting our second doses any time now. You must be a temporary or permanent resident and have a CURP#, which is printed on your resident visa, to register for the vaccine. After registering online, we received an email listing the day, time and assigned location for our vaccinations. From the time we arrived at our assigned site, to checking in, waiting in socially distanced areas, to getting the vaccine, the entire process only took about an hour. The staff were friendly and professional, and the entire process went very smoothly. We were impressed! A couple hours north of La Paz, sheltered from the hustle and bustle of most tourism by a rough dirt road that winds along the coast, lies the small hamlet of San Evaristo. Perched on the side of a lagoon on the Sea of Cortez, San Evaristo is a tiny gateway to some of the best snorkeling and diving to be found anywhere in the world. Dolphins, turtles, sting rays, humpback whales, schools of big, colorful fish, eels, octopus – on a recent trip, we saw them all in stunning abundance.
